Holiness Scripture References
Alot of people know what we believe, but don't know why. This page was created for those people. It will explain our main beliefs and give scriptures to back it up.
- Why do we believe in the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Ghost)?
- Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..."
- Matthew 3:16-17 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
- Why do our ladies always wear skirts/dresses and our men wear pants?
I Timothy 2:9 "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;" (The preceding scripture also brings out of belief of no jewelry)
Deuteronomy 22:5 "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God."
Why do we believe that men should have short hair and women have long?
1 Corinthians 11:14-15 "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering."
Why do we believe that jewelry should not be worn by the believer?
